The following is a bit of alternative fiction based on certain characters from the Xenaverse. It is not meant to infringe on anyone else's rights. If you don't agree or disapprove, please go read something else.

Remember, this is all meant in fun!

She was consumed, burned away. Everything hurt, inside outside. All her senses were filled with the light and pure hot of it. All her breath wasn't there. She gasped for air. It was wet and torturously scorching at the same time. The power of it screamed roughly through her mouth and down her throat. She felt herself dying. She was ashes. She was sure of it. Ashes.

She woke up to the call of her name, though it wasn't. Her inner heart knew she went by something else, but the content of it, the feel, scattered away from her. She didn't have time to think about it now. She recognized the cold voice, the laughter. It sent chills down her spine. She was summoned. The mad Goddess called.

She resisted. She pulled all her soul back. Her fingers wrapped around soggy tendrils of the cloud that surrounded her. She held to it, pulling herself away, slowly, much too slowly. She covered hundreds of miles of cloud, swirling up and away, in a heart beat. But the creature didn't know her territory and that ignorance lost her the battle. She was pulled out of the sky with a rumble and flashed to the earth.

"Oooh," he said, his handsome eyes roving, taking in her nakedness. Aulix hadn't expected such a gift from the Goddess. It was a woman, who was obviously mindless. She had skin that shimmered with various shades of gray. Perfect. She'd be all his own then and just right to take care of his needs. And oh, in this body, did he have needs.

"Nice." The word hissed out of his mouth. He didn't care if the woman was God offered or not. She was a toy to him. He slithered next to the creature, flexing. He sniffed at her, "Smells clean. I like that. Nothing' like one of those stinkin' Amazons." He spread his fingers and clasped the woman's breast with a clawed grip. "Give us a kiss." That was the royal us. He puckered his lips, closing his eyes. He leaned forward, intent. Velaska's pawn missed the way the creature looked down and, with definite intelligence, sneered.

The next thing he knew his hand was grabbed with a pinching grip that shocked right through him. He screamed in pain, but that didn't last long. He felt something jolt through his body and flew. The sound of ripping and the vivid pain of colliding with a much too solid object, which scraped his back as he fell down slumped into a barely conscious heap, far outweighed that momentary surprise.

Velaska stepped casually through the ragged hole that had been punched through the tent. The woman followed, compelled. She was angry at the violation, but unable to vent on the Goddess, she was fully prepared to manifest her rage at others. Miniature lightening streaks flickered blue and white along her skin. Her hair was almost white but mostly translucent. They sparkled with fractured images of electricity and rainbow colors that swirled. Her eyes seemed to reflect the clouds above her, which rumbled responsively, darkly, to her mood.

The Goddess stalked towards her chosen. Her leathers whisked against her hips. Her perfect seductive godly scent of fruit and flowers wafted through the air. Her long hair swished against her back, feeling sensuously good. She left no footprint and the rain avoided touching her skin. She decided to stop walking and willed herself forward. She exulted in feeling this powerful. The men of the camp skittered away from her like frightened mice. She was a Goddess and it felt so so right.

She didn't bother with crouching. Velaska leaned over, exposing a lovely mounds of flesh to view and covering her victim from the rain. Her eyes were white with power, but it was her expression which was terrifying. The man whimpered. She grinned evilly and pointed to her newly created companion. "Aulix, meet Electra. She's going to help you bring about the Amazons' doom."

Gabrielle ran to Xena, overjoyed to see her best friend lover. They hugged each other tight and the warrior smiled down at her mate. The Amazon queen noted the darker shading of the azure colored orbs that always sent tingles of emotion through her. Xena wrapped an arm around the red head's shoulder. Gabrielle spoke, "This took longer than I expected. I missed you." She gave Xena's waist a squeeze.

Xena smiled and glanced at Iovene, who was helping Jacosta unload the shoulder pack from her back, "I know. We got your message."

The bard blinked, "Message?"

There was a pause, then a tightlipped smile of understanding, "I'll tell you all about it, after."

Another blink, "After?"

"I'd like you to meet someone." Xena gently steered her lover around and then pushed her forward towards a woman, who, for some reason, seemed much less gawky than she had the night before. "Gabrielle, this is Jacosta. She has some very interesting things to show you."

Their glances met across a small distance. Long fingers helplessly let go of a thick strap and the pack full of scrolls and tools fell to the ground with a rattling thunk. The wind seemed to pick up, brushing Jacosta's short hair back. She smiled. Sunlight danced along her skin. Gabrielle smiled back, then moved to embrace the priestess.

It was a perfectly formed hug, that led to a simple kiss of welcome. "It is," Gabrielle said evenly, despite the tears that threatened, "very good to see you." Someone so Long lost was at last found. It was beyond good. It was miraculous. All of them, all in the same lifetime. Miraculous.

Jacosta gave her one last squeeze, embracing the queen. Her queen. "and you." She let go and sniffled. She felt Iovene move besides her, then Eudora. She didn't even have to look back to know they were there. She knew their feel. She looked up and around counting, hoping to see. . .

Arete spoke up, not meaning to interrupt anything, but very aware there was one who was not present. "Where's Kalai?" Her eyes scanned the behind and before her and saw nothing of her mate. "What. . ."

Gabrielle grinned, unable to help herself. "Someone saw a walking bush. She went to investigate."

Arete felt her breath pause and then nodded sagely, "Oh. I see." Her eyebrows raised, "Elemental?"

Gabrielle shook her head in the negative, then reached and gave the blonde woman a solid hug and kiss. "Spy."
