Xex Alert: Hey, they just Got Married! They're entitled
Gabrielle leaned back into the security of Xena's arms as they rested from the day's events. They could hear the raucous noise of the party even though the shutters were closed and drawn. Still she was thankful to be up here, with Xena in this fair sized room. It had been a long set of days, with last nights sleep the only good rest they'd had in a while. Gabrielle held up her her hand so she could look at her ring. She'd been amazed and confused at the twists and turns of the ceremony. Xena's long fingers entwined with hers and she found herself comparing Xena's olive skin to her own pale color.
"What did you think of it, Xena?" she asked as her hand traced a light pattern on Xena's forearm. Xena felt her armhairs prickle up in pleasant goosebumps.
Xena tilted her head so her bard could see her face. Her expression was perplexed. "What did I think of what?"
Gabrielle sighed, "the ceremony. What did you think of it."
Xena contemplated a moment, one part of her mind keeping track of the noise outside, another keeping track of the guard on the other side of the door, and another noodling out her impressions of the ceremony. It had been like dancing with a whirlwind. She wasn't sure if she was married thrice over or if she was simply married to Gabrielle and the other was about some infinite God thing that would come back to haunt them later. "It was interesting."
Gabrielle sat up and turned around on the bed so that her knee was under her leg and she was facing Xena. "Interesting. Is that all?" She flipped her hands in that, "get on with you," manner. Xena grinned down at Gabrielle and arched her eyebrow.
"Are you trying to tell me something, wench?" the warrior princess purred.
Gabrielle rolled her eyes. Xena had teased her about Ares' note almost all night. It was getting annoying. "Yeah, honey, you just keep calling me that. See if you get any."
Xena gave a light laugh, "Oh. Are you threatening me?" She asked as she leaned forward abruptly. Her expression held danger and Gabrielle backed off the bed hastily.
Gabrielle's mouth widened into a grin, despite herself, "Nope. Not threatening. I would never threaten. Notatall. Never, never. Threaten, nope, not me." Xena's body arched forward and she almost grasped the bard's skirt as Gabrielle continued to back away quickly. The warrior princess noticed that the woman she loved was babbling again. That was a good sign. Xena grinned wickedly, hopped off the bed and she began stalking her prey.
Gabrielle took advantage of every table, chair and obstacle she could, but it didn't do much good, considering. She wasn't too upset though and Xena ended up pouncing on the bard when her back was turned. As soon as Xena had her arms around Gabrielle, she began nuzzling the woman's neck and her hands began the slow movements of seduction.
Gabrielle's head lolled back against Xena, making her neck more available for her lover's kisses. Xena's kisses slowed and suddenly stopped and Gabrielle raised her head in confusion. Then she looked back at Xena's face.
It was the softest look she had ever seen pass on the warrior princess' face. Her expression was so tender it took the red head's breath away. She turned around in her lover's arms and placed her hands against Xena's face.
"I forgot to tell you something," Xena's voice was as warm as her eyes.
Gabrielle gazed mutely at her warrior. "What?" she asked, entranced.
"You make my heart full Gabrielle." The bard's breath caught. "I look at you and I want to drown myself in you." Their gaze intensified until Gabrielle could only feel one heartbeat. "I meant to tell you, but I kept forgetting, and it is the most important thing."
"what?" Gabrielle whispered.
"I love you." Xena whispered back, "I love you with all my heart."
Gabrielle smiled gently, and caressed her love's face as they continued to stare into each other's eyes, "Xena."
Her response was almost nonvocal, "yes."
"You've told me all week." She pulled her warrior's face down for a kiss and her lips vibrated against Xena's as she spoke, "I love you too." Then she gently pushed her lover with her body in the direction of the bed. Xena sat down without stumbling even as the bard was leaning in for a luscious kiss. Their mouths joined as their bodies soon would, wetly, deeply, intensely. It was breathtaking and it seemed like they could just kiss forever and ever, but at some point Gabrielle's hand dropped down from Xena's face and touched the dark skin of her lover's breast.
That single movement changed the tempo of their breathing and their moving because it caused Xena's arms to wrap around the bard's body and pull her close. Xena's mouth traveled downward and soon encountered a block to her plans. Fortunately for the warrior princess, but not for the dress, it was no real hindrance and soon the dress was (in pieces) on the floor.
Then it was Gabrielle's turn to insist on the (non)dress for the evening and though she couldn't rip through armor and leather, she could follow that ritual which had been with them for almost more than two years. Each gentle tug was a prayer and each uncoupled link was an offering and her kisses that followed were the sacrifice of her heart.
That night they celebrated their joining through the thoroughly natural call of their bodies. They loved each other slow and long, expressing with sweet intimacy what words couldn't. Then, when they were ready, they slept, entwined together in that eternal lovers' pattern, their hands touching.
