Two Souls

This story undertakes the daunting task of taking up where the episode "Sacrifice II" leaves off. I can only hope that the writers of the series can come up with something even half as good as that which Bracer has accomplished here.

Staying well within the confines of the events portrayed in the series to date, Bracer has constructed a thoroughly engrossing tale of Xena as she moves on and copes with her anguish at the loss of her companion. There is also a highly creative and satisfying description of the bard's experience while away from the mortal realm (that's all I'm gonna say, you just *have to* go read this story!).

The story is extremely well written and emotionally compelling. Bracer's eventual resolution to the problem of how to bring our favorite bard back to the land of the living leaves one grinning and nodding with a feeling of "yeah, I can accept that". No cheap tricks are used here, just plain old fashioned good writing.

So, if you want my advice (and even if you don't) quit wasting your time reading this and go read "Two Souls". I guarantee you'll be glad that you did. (BTW, word of advice... have some kleenex nearby).
