Following a skirmish with some thieves, Argo carries a gravely injured Xena to the cottage of a recluse wood carver who bears wounds of his own. As he tenderly ministers to the mysterious woman who cannot speak, he finds himself healing in ways he didn't anticipate. This story portrays the courageous, resilient Xena we so admire. Yet it also provides a sensitive, moving glimpse into how she might be in those rare moments when she allows herself to trust and be vulnerable with a worthy stranger. "Sandor" contains some painful blood and gore. It is touching with little sentimentality. Mostly, it is a quiet, satisfying exploration of two people sharing the best of themselves in small but infinitely precious ways.
