I have read reams and reams of fanfiction, but never have I read such a moving tale. Directly following Elaine's "The Pappas Journals", an UberXena story, "In The Reich" finds Janice Covington and Melinda Pappas in Athens, Greece. Surrounded by Germans they find themselves seperated from each other's arms by countries and the horror that was the corrupted heart of the Third Reich.
Melinda's innocense of the world, like Gabrielle's so long ago, is lost as she becomes a prisoner in a German labor camp. Her daily journal a small but powerful glimpse into the daily terror she witnesses and lives.
Janice, makes a deal with a devil and rescues her lover from the hell that has imprisoned her only to them both become collaborators, although unwilling ones.
There is one line in particular that reflects this piece and it comes the second half of this story. "I have loved the stars too deeply to be afraid of the dark." Even in the darkness that is Germany, light and love can be found.
I urge each and everyone of you to read this moving story. No matter what words I use, I can never express how much this tale has moved me. I salute Elaine in writing this and hope she will come to us again with a sequel. Brava.

Heaven Down Here does a lot of teasing and a lot of pleasing. Gabby decides to have show of force and tell the warrior just how deep her longings run until the relucant warrior decides to recognize what's in her heart. It's a wonderful first time story and a realistic portrayal of a younger Gabrielle and the ever stoic Xena.
The sequel Wildfire is in a word - hot. Gabrielle has doubts as to whether her intense longings are natural. Let's just say that Xena puts her fears to rest in the most delightful of ways.
I recommend both of these stories. Both are passionate accounts of our passionate pair and worth the read if you're not offended by 'spice' in your stories.
